ADOPT FALSIE TODAY!

PWF’s Research team first encountered Falsie traveling through Maui Nui waters in 2014. Since then, Falsie has been sighted three additional times including a sighting in August 2018. Most recently, PWF researchers collected data on this animal during a false killer whale rapid response effort, during which Falsie was sighted with a small calf confirming her as female — an important designation as determining the number of females and calving rates within this population is critical in monitoring the insular false killer whale population recovery.
